When casting big stickbaits and poppers for pelagics such as Giant Trevally and Mackerel you need the heaviest, toughtest and most capable gear to help you land the fish of a lifetime. The Penn Slammer and Saltist Hyper is just that, this combo has plenty of power and is sealed enough to withstand the elements that will be thrown at you whilst out on the reef. We opted with the high speed Penn Slammer as the faster line retrieval will help you work lures better and remove the bow in your line when sweeping stickbaits, this gives you more tension when a fish blows up on your lure, giving you a better hookset. This combo will also be useful when you are back home from Swains as it doubles and a Kingfish stickbait setup or a combo to chase Longtail Tuna and other Pelagics off the rocks with.
